Comte de Rochambeau Letter - June 2, 1782

p1

Williamsburgh, June 2d 1782

Sir,

I just now receive advices from the Legion de
Lauzun, that there only remains grain and forage
untill the 10th [illegible]. I send the order for their
movement to Petersburgh, where we have found
six miles from that place, a great pasture,
sufficiently abundant for them. I beg of your
Excellency to send an American quartermaster
to make the establishment, jointly with Mr.
Dumas, at that Place and its environs

I am with a respectfull attachment,
Sir, Your Excellency's
most obedient &
humble servant

Cmte de Rochambeau
